MEMBERS RESPONSIBILITIES IF YOUR NAME IS BOOKED INTO A CLUB COMPETITION
Members will be held responsible if their name is entered into a golf competition, regardless of who placed their name in the booking sheet.
Consequentially, all players are expected to be at the course no later than 15 minutes before their designated tee time.
Rule 5.3a states that a player must be at their starting point ready to play at the starting time.
A breach of Rule 5.3a will result in Disqualification. An exception applies if the player arrives, ready to play, no more than 5 minutes late where the general penalty (2 strokes) is applied to the player’s first hole.
MEMBERS RESPONSIBILITIES IF YOU CANNOT HONOUR YOUR BOOKING IN A CLUB COMPETITION
If you are pre-booked in for a tee time in a club competition and you cannot play for any reason, you must –
Either ring the Pro Shop and cancel your name from the Competition: or
Cancel your name from the Competition directly from your electronic device.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING IN A CLUB COMPETITION (NO SHOW)
If a player fails to honour his/her pre-booked tee time, without cancelling the booking, the Match Committee will take remedial action.
Non attendance meant that other members were deprived of an opportunity to play in the event and your intended group was reduced to three players. The Match Committee considers non attendance to be a serious breach, which can disrupt the smooth running of club competitions. A warning letter will be issued in the first instance and subsequent breaches could result in more severe action.
