Division 5 at Hurstville GC on 25 August 2025
It’s been a dreadful week for rain and I see that the Saturday competition has been cancelled due to the conditions. So, the course has been closed Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri and now Saturday this week.
I have notified the Div 5 Convenor that the course is very slippery and to my mind, unsafe. There is considerable pooling of water throughout the course and I do not consider that conditions will improve enough to provide a sufficiently safe surface for Super Seniors Pennants games. At our ages, any slipping or falling could be serious. Obviously, we will not need Spotters on Monday but my thanks go to those who intended to help
Convenor Paul is considering alternate arrangements but time is short.
I’m very disappointed that we won’t have the opportunity to show off the course, the new Clubhouse and repay the hospitality that the other clubs showed us, perhaps next year.
