Women's B1 Pennant - Round 1
Hurstville 1 Lost to Kareela 4
The Bronze 1 Pennant is part of the Southern District Pennants and is for players with a handicap between 18 and 31. Teams from Kareela, Cronulla, The Coast, Lakeside, Woolooware and Oak Point joined Hurstville at our course today for the first round of the 2026 season.
Hurstville faced Kareela today. The ladies from Kareela are always a difficult team to beat and today they took a 4/1 win. The stand out match for Hurstville was from the destroyer, Pan Northey, who made short work of her opponent with a 6&5 win. Donna Hannigan fought her way to the 18th hole but fell just short losing 1 down. For the other Hurstville ladies, there was lunch to look forward to.
Hosting Excellence
As the host club, Hurstville was responsible for co-ordinating the matches and providing a lunch for 40 players. While the team did not win the golf, they are world champion hosts, and the lunch that was provided was spectacular.
A big thank you to everybody who helped out today with bringing food, spotting, setting up for lunch and cleaning up. Well done to Fay Zaj for organising everything.
