Matchplay Final
Brandon Mudaliar (5) v Jason McFadyen (4)
This was generally a high quality match between two low single figure players.
The first four holes were squared with each player missing good opportunities on the green to take an early advantage.
Jason went ahead winning the 5th hole and took advantage of a great drive on the 6th to go 2 up.
Brandon then took advantage of his only handicap shot on the 8th to get back to 1 down but proceeded to three putt the 9th to miss out squaring the match by the half way point.
Another birdie on the 11th saw Jason back to 2 up and by the end of the 13th hole he looked well in control, but golf being what it is saw Brandon take the 14th, 15th and 16th to go 1 up with two holes to play.
After sinking a three and a half footer on the 17th to stay 1 up Brandon then proceed to drive his next tee shot onto the 18th green to close out the match 2 up.
A great match and a lot of fun to watch.
Congratulations to both players for their fine play but there could only be one winner.
