Hurstville v Woolooware
We were apprehensive about the condition of the Cronulla Golf course when we arrived. For four days their members had played on a composite 9 hole course due to water on the course. Huge accolades to the maintenance workers who presented an 18 hole course for the Senior Pennant teams, although golf carts were not allowed.
I must mention the complimentary coffee and pastries provided by Cronulla, pre tee off, were a big hit with our boys.
Under sunny skies, our opponent today was Woolooware and the matches were very competitive. Our team was shuffled about somewhat allowing Craig Kerr and Tim Hooper to represent. Also, Colin Kent, Dave Felstead and Ian Rydstrand were promoted up the order.

RESULT: Hurstville 4 drew Woolooware 4
As Warwick said, “the tail wagged today”. A four/four tie was a fair result and the Team
represented Hurstville proudly today and sat down with the Woolooware after the game and
enjoyed a hot meal and a drink, courtesy of Cronulla’s hospitality. It was a very good result
for Ian and Warwick and thanks to Craig and Tim for stepping in (and winning) almost at the
last minute.
Our compliments to Cronulla for the hospitality they showed us and thanks the Woolooware
team for being such good opponents.
Hurstville is hosting the next SSP Game on Monday, 27 July, commencing at 10am. I’m
hoping for many volunteers to act as spotters for the other teams or to just come and enjoy
some great golf.
