Hurstville v Bonnie Doon
Our start was delayed by an hour due to heavy rain. Even the practice green was underwater and unplayable. However, true to their boast of being the best wet weather course in Sydney, the greens drained quickly and play got underway. Our opponent for the day was Bonnie Doon. Todd Shaw, our #1, won his match 2&1, while Warwick Berrett and Ian Rydstrand, both tied their matches. Trevor Ratcliffe and David Felstead both went 1 down in their very close matches. So overall, Bonnie Doon won the very closest of matches, 6/2.

Our Team fought hard all day with Trevor and David fighting back from 4 down early and Todd seemed in charge all day on a quality Australian Open golf course.
I must thank The Lakes for the wonderful hospitality they showed to the Teams, with complimentary coffee & refreshments on arrival, midway refreshments and a steak dinner with drinks afterwards.
Our next game is at Kareela on Monday, 24 August at 10am. It is a replay of the Kareela Round 1, which was abandoned on account of heavy rain and unplayable greens on 6 July 2026. This will be our final game for 2026 and our opponent is Cronulla. Best wishes to the Team and thanks to all Team members for your significant efforts during this SSP season.
