Foursome Championship
The Foursome Championship will be played over two rounds:
- Sat 9 May
- Sat 16 May
For those not familiar with foursomes, the format is as follows:
- Only members can play in the championship
- Stroke play
- Played in pairs
Shots are taken alternately, with 1 ball played between the 2 players
- Player 1 tees off, then Player 2 plays that ball, Player 1 next and so on until the ball is in the hole.
- On the next hole, Player 2 tees off, then Player 1 plays that ball, Player 2 next and so on until the ball is in the hole.
Effectively, Player 1 tees off on the odd-numbered holes and Player 2 tees off on the even-numbered holes. - Whichever player order is selected for week 1 is then reversed for week 2
Groups need to have more than 1 pairing (so check your tee time – you may have to move or not play if you don’t have a partner)
Groups of 2 or 3 do not work in week 1 (there is no swinger). A group of 2 (1 pair) will be asked to play with the next group of 4
Rule 22 applies to this form of play (with the side playing one ball being treated in the same way as the individual player is treated), as modified by these specific Rules.
