Hurstville 2 Lost to The Coast 3
It was by the smallest margin that the Bronze 2 team missed out on taking their first points in the pennants competition. The team took on The Coast at Woolooware Golf Course with some very close matches that could have gone either way.
Both Mimi (another team debutant) and Vicki reached the 18th hole with the score all square. That’s 17 holes of golf that really didn’t need to be played, as both matches came down to a putt-off. Whoever was the queen of the green would win the match. As it turns out, Mimi is good at putting, and she won 1 up. Vicki is not so good at putting and lost 1 down.
Julie wrapped up her match slightly earlier and with a 2&1 win. While Gai wisely finished up before the difficult 16th hole. Last into the clubhouse was Mary, who also got full value for money by playing all 18 holes before losing 2 down.
The team is showing great promise, and it will only be a matter of time before they start beating other clubs.
